2016 MMR Week 6: Tennessee at Texas A&M

A doppelgänger is someone/something that looks just like another person and easily mistaken. What we have this weekend the Doppleganger showdown. Aside from opinions of why each team is winning, the fact is both are 5-0 and playing for the leading contender spot in the SEC pecking order.

Wait…Tennessee is just lucky, look at the Georgia game last week. Well, luck is nothing but opportunity meeting preparedness. Tennessee was close enough to get a good throw in the end zone, with the right players in the play to catch the ball, with just enough time to pull it off. This sounds like great execution.

Both teams come in with a strong quarterback in charge of the offense. Each game, Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs and Aggie quarterback look better and better. Both teams have very strong defenses led by amazing duos. Tennessee has Derek Barnett and Corey Vereen anchoring the line while Texas A&M brings the evil duo of Myles Garrett and Daeshon Hall. Both teams balance their running and passing games effectively. Both teams make good second half adjustments. So who’s going to win? Ahh, the Macho Man knows!

Expect A&M to score early, with the crowd and the hype A&M will score first. Then the defense shows everyone watching why Garrett/Hall are the best defensive duo in the country. Look for A&M to get off to a strong start and take the halftime lead. Now, second half rolls along, and now we see that the UCLA game was a practice session for what happens next. Both teams play pretty strong, but the Aggies give up a few points here and there. Then what looks like a close game turns into overtime, and that’s where the miracle ends. A&M scores a touchdown in overtime and beats Tennessee in a very, very close game.
